Technical Trainer

About the role
As a Technical Trainer, you will develop and conduct programs to train employees and/or customers on the installation, programming, safety, maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of equipment and machinery. You will collaborate with other technicians to ensure all work is performed safely and meets customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Confer with management, staff, or customer representatives to determine technical training needs.
- Participate in all necessary training to obtain and maintain professional certifications from OEMs and other suppliers, as needed to train others.
- Prepare training materials including outlines, text, handouts, PowerPoint presentations, and laboratory exercises.
- Demonstrate procedures being taught, such as programming and repairs.
- Observe trainees in the laboratory and answer their questions.
- Administer written and practical exams and write performance reports to evaluate trainees' performance.
- Monitor the budget to ensure training costs do not exceed allocated funds.
- Award Certificates of Completion to students meeting the requirements of the class.
Requirements
- 2+ years of relevant sales experience and/or equivalent industry experience.
- Strong working knowledge of business systems (e.g., BMS and Lotus Notes).
- Computer and software skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
