About the role

The Technical Tendering Specialist is responsible for creating commercial strategy, developing pricing models, and ensuring commercial discipline to optimize business value. They provide strategic guidance, analytics, and support to sales and pricing specialists, and contribute to the long-term profitability of the business.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for all Fixed Networks (FN) products, including xPON, Wi-Fi devices, and associated management systems.
  • Create Bill of Materials, quotes, and competitive pricing for FN products.
  • Assist Sales teams with product questions.
  • Work with Global Solutions Consulting (GSCO) to build and analyze commercial proposals, pricing models, and deal structures to ensure margin, cash flow, and risk targets are met.
  • Partner with Sales and Pre-sales to optimize deal terms, pricing, and commercial frameworks.
  • Identify commercial risks and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Review discounting, rebates, and incentive structures to protect profitability.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of commercial tools, processes, and templates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in Fixed Networks (FN) Business Development, Customer Engineering, commercial management, pricing, finance, deal desk, or related roles.
  • Telecom market experience, preferably in North American market.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (or equivalent financial tools) and comfort with data analysis.
  • Familiarity with Fixed Networks products and solutions.
  • Strong business acumen, margin calculation, and deal evaluation skills.

Qualifications

  • Based in Dallas, TX, US or Ottawa, ON, CA.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
  • Experience with RFPs and commercial proposals.
  • Knowledge of telecom market trends and competitor behavior.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
