About the role
SABG is seeking a Technical Specialist III to support Headquarters United States Space Force, Chief of Operations (HQ USSF/S3/4/7).
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Assist in developing policy, guidance, and orders to USSF Field Commands.
- Support formulation, coordination, and communication of USSF positions on transitioning acquisitions programs to operationally accepted weapon systems.
- Support formulation, coordination, and communication of USSF positions on joint matters, Joint Staff actions, and best military advice.
- Aid in preparing senior USSF staff for participation in Joint Staff led forums.
- Provide strategic-level expertise in Space Force Exercises.
- Advise senior leadership in planning, developing, and coordinating exercise activities and events.
- Generate recommendations for new exercise related programs, policies, doctrine, strategies, studies, and approaches.
- Interpret national level guidance and ensure incorporation into USSF efforts, inform USSF Best Military Advice by providing warfighting analysis, novel concepts, and expert decision support.
- Support ongoing development and changes to Space Staff’s decision-making, stakeholder analyses, decision/risk management, exercise planning, and other tasks to support the division.
- Provide irregular warfare, and space weapons capabilities, strategies, concept of employment and operations development.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s Degree plus a minimum of 10 years of experience in an Operations, Engineering, Scientific, Data Science, Software Programming, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Analysis, Policy or Planning field, or equivalent experience/responsibility.
- Data analysis and visualization.
Additional Skills/Experience
- Space operations experience, offensive counter space or orbital warfare knowledge.
- HQ Air Force A3K (Checkmate) or similar staff experience.
- Developing and assessing strategic concepts to support the joint warfighting force.
- Offering independent, alternative strategic analysis for future space capabilities.
- Expertise with weapon system operational acceptance procedures.
- Extensive familiarity with DoD programming, planning and budgeting processes.
- Ability to research and draft talking points, briefing documents.
- Strong verbal, communication, and written skills; ability to create and edit written correspondence.
