Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop engineering and maintenance teams.
- Translate plant strategy into clear roadmaps and project priorities.
- Build a culture of safety, problem solving, and continuous improvement.
- Allocate resources, manage budgets, and track project results.
- Own process design, validation, and optimization for existing production lines.
- Specify, select, install, and commission new equipment and tooling.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for downtime, scrap, and quality issues.
- Maintain accurate process documentation, work instructions, and standards.
- Evaluate workflows, takt time, line balance, and capacity utilization.
- Develop labor and machine standards and support staffing models.
- Lead plant layout planning and material flow optimization.
- Oversee maintenance strategy, staffing, and execution for production equipment and facilities.
- Develop preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve uptime and reliability.
- Manage critical spares, repair practices, and vendor support.
- Support troubleshooting and long-term corrective actions for chronic equipment issues.
- Plan and manage facility upgrades, utilities, and infrastructure improvements.
- Evaluate compliance with safety, environmental, building, and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to capital planning for equipment replacement and expansion projects.
- Collaborate with Product Engineering on design-for-manufacturability (DFM/DFA).
- Support APQP, PFMEA, control plans, process capability, and validation builds.
- Prepare processes, equipment, and staffing for ramp-up.
- Identify and deliver cost reduction through automation, productivity, and waste elimination.
- Support Statistical Process Control (SPC), capability studies, and structured problem solving.
- Track and report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), downtime, scrap, labor utilization, maintenance metrics, and Return on Investment (ROI).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field.
- 8–10+ years in manufacturing environments with progressive responsibility.
- Prior leadership/supervisory experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in Lean, problem solving, and process improvement.
- Experience with equipment installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance practices.
- Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
