Responsibilities
- Collect, compile, track and maintain usage statistics on the effectiveness of library databases, resources and services through interaction using vendor software programs and websites.
- Maintain accurate records and maintain payment files of receipts.
- Work with other library staff to explore AI-supported data analysis tools to identify trends, forecast resource usage, and automate report creation.
- Purchase materials using a variety of vendor ordering systems, responsible for requisition and payment in the Quinnipiac financial systems and Visa purchasing card.
- Assist with experimentation using AI-generated summaries or visualizations of usage data.
- Avoid duplication of records and detect duplicate records.
- Process materials using the library management system software.
- Sort, arrange, and label archival material.
- Prepare lists of items and follow proper handling procedures to clean, repair, and stabilize fragile documents.
- Maintain a neat and organized collection area.
- Oversee student workers.
- Prepare and maintain library user guides on relevant topics.
- Cover library service desks.
- Sort and distribute Library mail and digitize materials for the repository and patron use.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience working in a library, academic, or information services environment.
- Demonstrated experience collecting, analyzing, and reporting usage statistics using spreadsheets (e.g., Excel) and data visualization tools (e.g., PowerPoint, Tableau, or similar).
- Familiarity with library systems and platforms, including integrated library systems (ILS), vendor databases, and usage tracking tools (e.g., COUNTER reports).
- Experience with acquisitions workflows for both digital and physical materials, including ordering, invoicing, and record management.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple workflows such as acquisitions, reporting, and archival processing simultaneously.
- Experience handling financial transactions, maintaining records, and reconciling purchases (e.g., procurement systems, purchasing cards).
- Ability to work accurately with detailed records and maintain data integrity.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience creating user guides or instructional documentation.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
