Key Job Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues on Electric Rope Shovels
  • Perform preventative maintenance and on-site service support
  • Aid with capital builds, component changeouts, and equipment overhauls
  • Partner with mine personnel and Komatsu teams to ensure safe and efficient operation
  • Assist electricians with installations and wiring of electric rope shovels
  • Communicate effectively with coworkers and customers regarding equipment needs
  • Lead issue resolution teams to research, document, and review product issues
  • Lead machine troubleshooting, inspection, and audit teams
  • Accurately report machine condition, repair/maintenance recommendations, time to repair/service, and recommended upgrades
  • Facilitate development of maintenance strategies promoting safety, system reliability, and reduced unplanned downtime
  • Assume project management responsibilities for major electrical field jobs
  • Assist electricians with installations, wiring, and commissioning of equipment
  • Communicate effectively with Customer Supervisors, Managers, Internal Employees, Engineering, and Product Support on customer needs

Qualifications/Requirements

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with Electric Rope Shovels
  • Able to work 10-hour days, 6 days per week
  • Prior mining or heavy equipment experience required
  • Must understand how circuits work and be able to read and understand Electrical Schematics
  • Must be knowledgeable in Electrical Theory and in the Electrical Field
  • Must be prepared to perform Root Cause Analysis
