Technical Scrum Master

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead the team in executing planned sprint activities.
  • Facilitate and lead all Scrum ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Scrums, Retrospectives, and Reviews/Demos, using relevant metrics and data to drive continuous improvement.
  • Actively remove impediments by resolving blocking issues related to feature development, build and dependency challenges, operational support conflicts, and process.
  • Provide timely status, risk, and dependency reporting to the Release Train Engineer and management, including sprint execution, team availability, and issues impacting delivery.
  • Design, develop, document, configure, test, and debug applications and frameworks across the full software development life cycle, serving as a key contributor to system enhancements and new features.
  • Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate coding, refactoring, debugging, and test creation.
  • Assist with deployment, diagnosis, and resolution of critical issues in lab and operational systems as required.
  • Collaborate with and mentor junior team members to meet sprint commitments and project milestones.
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional internal teams, stakeholders, and, when necessary, external partners to ensure alignment and successful delivery.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field with 4-8 years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree with 2-6 years of prior experience.
  • Significant knowledge of Java with substantial hands-on programming experience.
  • Significant experience with Web development and commonly used front-end tools and languages (React, HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
  • Significant experience with unit testing tools such as Junit and Mockito.
  • Experience with RESTful API, JSON, XML, XSD.
  • Experience with Spring Framework, Spring Security, and Spring Boot.
  • Experience with Linux.
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git or Subversion.
  • Experience with common development tools and IDEs (Eclipse, VS Code, etc.).
  • Experience working as a Scrum Master within the Agile Scrum framework.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to obtain SF-85 Public Trust (Tier 2) suitability determination.
  • US citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of or experience with AI-assisted coding (Claude Code, Codex etc.).
  • Knowledge of or experience with microservices and cloud-based environments.
  • Knowledge of or experience with Python programming language.
  • Knowledge of or experience with Ansible playbooks and YAML.
  • Knowledge of or experience with Linux shell scripting.
  • Knowledge of or experience with MongoDB.
  • Knowledge of air traffic control and flight services ATMC.
