Technical Sales Manager- Industrial Water (Food & Beverage Industry)
Position will be based in one of the following locations: Denver, Phoenix, Los Angeles, or Salt Lake City.
About the role
The Sales Manager – Food & Beverage drives sales growth by successfully finding, qualifying, and developing new opportunities, collaborating with internal resources to provide solutions, and closing business to achieve sales targets. This is a sales leader role focused on expanding Veolia’s Engineering and Procurement Projects business in the North American market, with a heavy focus on equipment solutions for the Food & Beverage industry. The Sales Manager should already have a strong network of established industry relationships and in-depth knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes related to the Food & Beverage market.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a sales plan to achieve targets and drive capital equipment projects growth within the North American Food & Beverage market.
- Sell water and wastewater treatment and reuse solutions to Food & Beverage customers.
- Build and nurture relationships at all levels within Food & Beverage companies, engineering consultants, and EPCs.
- In collaboration with commercial and engineering teams, understand and communicate customers’ needs, qualify leads, and work closely with all stakeholders to develop and implement comprehensive, value-driven solutions for customers.
- Develop a pipeline of well-qualified projects that lead to short, medium, and long-term success.
- Foster a strong partnership across other Veolia businesses to maximize synergy with their customers, products, and growth initiatives.
- Integrate aftermarket services, products, and chemicals offerings as part of the Veolia solution in collaboration with other Veolia teams.
- Effectively build relationships, interface, and collaborate with other Veolia commercial and engineering resources to deliver world-class solutions for customers.
- Use technology and tools to track opportunities and provide updates on sales forecasting.
Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of experience in the industrial water treatment field with a portion of that experience in the Food & Beverage industry.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Sales/Business Development.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical, Industrial, Environmental, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering is preferable. Degrees in Chemistry or Biochemistry may also be considered depending on experience.
- Fluent in English.
- Effective oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and positive commercial acumen.
- Demonstrated computer skills, including Google, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Willing to work independently; a self-starter with a passion for selling.
- Successful track record penetrating new accounts and markets.
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships at senior management levels.
- Flexible and willing to work long hours when necessary.
- Ability and willingness to reside in the location of posting.
- Ability and willingness to travel within territory, with estimated travel of 40-60%.
Preferred Qualifications
- Functional expertise with water and wastewater treatment technologies, including membrane treatment (reverse osmosis, ultrafiltration), biological treatment (MBR, MBBR, anaerobic digestion), and thermal evaporation technologies.
- Experience developing and selling complex capital projects.
- Ability to develop and present technical and commercial concepts and proposals to broad audiences.
- Ability to work in a matrix organization in which you will take direction and lead others.
- Working knowledge of commercial contracts, terms, and conditions.
- Familiarity with Salesforce CRM technology platform.

Pay
The salary range is $90,000 - $125,000 USD, based on the individual candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience, and market conditions, as well as internal peer equity.
