About the role
We're looking for a Technical Sales Manager to join our Rail Technology & Monitoring team during an exciting period of growth. You will drive sales and hire activity, collaborate with multiple business units, and help deliver an outstanding customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Work with multiple teams to manage, monitor, and motivate sales and hire activity for the Rail Technology & Monitoring product basket across all business units.
- Drive the business to exceed hire and sales budgets, ensuring continued growth in line with market demand.
- Collaborate with other business units such as Survey, Rail, and Safety & Communications to develop routes to market.
- Create and maintain strict sales pipeline management using Salesforce.
- Work with product sales specialists to ensure a collaborative approach to the sales process, addressing specific sector requirements.
- Provide support and training both internally and externally to staff and customers, while developing training revenue for specialist products.
- Become a leading figure in the industry, focusing on the adoption of new technology.
- Work with the sales team to interpret market trends and maintain a clear understanding of sales pipeline activity.
- Ensure the support team provides the correct level of assistance for products.
- Manage profit and assist in delivering product launch plans.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to deliver industry events, messaging, and communication.
- Stay updated on products, competitor activity, and general market conditions.
- Compile and deliver comprehensive reports on your business area in a timely fashion.
- Occasionally work nights and weekends as required.
Requirements
- Background in sales and survey, with good knowledge of leading equipment manufacturers such as Leica, Trimble, and Topcon.
- Experience in the Rail/Monitoring Industry.
- Experience in people management and development.
- Knowledge of a wide range of surveying equipment and an understanding of its users.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface at all levels and functions.
- Strong sense of urgency, responsibility, and accountability.
- Willingness to travel nationally for business needs.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
