Technical Sales Manager

About the role

The Technical Sales Manager supports the internal sales team, dealers, and customers to provide solutions utilizing Kleemann machines.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and training the dealer network within the specified sales territory, including presenting to large groups and educating sales teams.
• Provide technical sales assistance to dealers and the sales team, specifying and recommending equipment for customers.
• Compile lists of prospective customers from various sources such as newspapers, directories, trade shows, and web sites.
• Travel through assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers, solicit orders, and discuss customer needs.
• Recommend standard or modified equipment best suited for customer use, quote prices, and prepare sales contracts.
• Estimate delivery dates based on production and delivery schedules.
• Prepare reports of business transactions and maintain expense accounts.
• Enter customer and sales data into computer databases.
• Develop and maintain relationships with purchasing contacts.
• Investigate and resolve customer problems from a commercial and managerial perspective.
• Attend trade shows and manage relationships between manufacturer and dealer.
• Drive results via distribution system partners and/or direct end customers.
• Prepare sales forecasts and submit weekly and monthly management reports.
• Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the crushing, screening, and aggregate mining industry.
• Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Suite software.

Physical Demands

• Frequently required to sit and talk or hear.
• Occasionally required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
• Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Frequent travel is required (75%), and living within the designated territory is mandatory.

Work Environment

• Frequently working at off-site locations with exposure to moving mechanical parts, high places, and outside weather conditions.
• Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
