Technical Sales Manager
Metglas, Inc., located in Conway, SC, is a world-leading producer of Amorphous Metal Ribbon. Since our company began in the 1970s, Metglas, Inc. pioneered the development and production of amorphous metal, a unique alloy with a random atomic structure. Our proprietary manufacturing process rapidly solidifies molten alloy at approximately one million degrees Celsius per second.
About the role
This is a North America-focused sales and business development position for Metglas products, combining account management, strategic planning, technical marketing, forecasting, pricing, and new product commercialization.
Responsibilities
- Develop growth strategies for existing and new Metglas products and markets.
- Manage customer relationships, account pricing, sales forecasting, CRM data, and production planning.
- Lead market research, competitive analysis, product launches, and promotional activities.
- Coordinate with global sales, manufacturing, R&D, Quality, and Operations teams in the U.S. and Japan.
- Identify profitable opportunities in utilities, transformers, government programs, and emerging markets.
- Maintain competitive intelligence in CRM and provide strategic plans to management.
- Represent customer priorities internally and support technical inquiries, design-in projects, and product development.
- Travel domestically and internationally approximately 33-50%.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering; MBA preferred.
- At least 5 years of relevant industry experience in industrial or technical marketing, product development, commercialization, or strategic business development.
- Strong knowledge of power and utility markets, forecasting, pricing, financial analysis, and account strategy.
- Demonstrated ability to commercialize technical products and lead cross-functional projects.
- Strong analytical, project management, negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and data analysis.
- Experience with government agencies or National Laboratories, government supply programs, transformer markets, international marketing, or emerging technologies is preferred.
