About the Role

Applied Materials is seeking a technical writer to join our team in Austin, TX. As a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions, we are at the forefront of advancing AI and next-generation semiconductor chips. In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our innovative work by developing, writing, and editing technical sales and marketing documents.

Responsibilities

• Develop, write, and edit material for technical sales and marketing documents, including system manuals, operation instructions, reports, manuals, briefs, and proposals.
• Observe production, developmental, and experimental activities to determine operating procedures and details.
• Interview production and engineering personnel to become familiar with product technologies and production methods, including interacting with engineering, Global Product Support (GPS), and Applied Global Services (AGS) to develop and update documentation.
• Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, part lists, specifications, mock-ups, and product samples to integrate technology, operating procedures, production sequences, and details.
• Review published materials and recommend revisions or changes in scope, format, content, and reproduction methods.
• Drive suppliers to deliver documentation on time.

Pay

Salary: $68,000.00 - $93,500.00

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
