Technical Editor II
About the role
As the Technical Editor II, you will work on-site at either the Anchorage, AK or Salt Lake City, UT offices and work independently or in teams to edit, format, and produce highly specialized technical (environmental/engineering) reports and related documentation in accordance with company or project-specific requirements.
Responsibilities
- Edits technical reports, work plans, proposals, and related documents involving highly specialized and scientific information;
- Prepares deliverables for client submittal;
- Mets production schedules to ensure completion by set deadlines;
- Follows company and project-specific guidance and best practices to accurately edit, prepare, and produce high-quality, consistent technical documentation;
- Uses Microsoft Office applications, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and company tools to complete and track assignments;
- Interprets and applies project requirements; coordinates with technical staff to resolve document issues and maintain consistency and quality across complex deliverables;
- Formats and produces complex computer-generated forms, tables, and graphs;
- Maintains organized electronic files and document records in company systems;
- Applies USACE Alaska MED, Section 508, and other government/agency requirements to submittals as needed;
- Produces hard copies/DVDs as assigned and coordinates shipping of deliverables;
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree;
- 5-10 years of experience directly related to duties and responsibilities;
- Valid state driver’s license and qualified to operate a vehicle under the conditions of Brice Engineering’s Driving Policy;
- Ability to pass a drug, driving, and background screenings.
Skills & Abilities
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat;
- Skills in Adobe Acrobat Pro/Creative Suite, SharePoint, PowerPoint, or Teams are beneficial;
- Ability to meet deadlines;
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing;
- Ability to edit technical documents for clarity, consistency, grammar, organization, and adherence to company standards;
- Ability to work effectively in a virtual team environment and adapt to company and team practices;
- Ability to develop and prepare reports for printing;
- Skill in document layout and formatting for professional technical publications;
- Knowledge of printing procedures and requirements;
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree;
- Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Additional Qualifications:

WORKING ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Brice Engineering has a fast-paced multi-tasking office environment requiring a high degree of efficient and effective performance. At times, work is performed outside of the office at indoor and outdoor job sites. Adaptability regarding schedule and design changes, and occasional overtime for immediate field support or bid processing may be necessary.
