Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage enterprise IT initiatives from inception through completion across the full project lifecycle.
  • Define project scope, timelines, resource plans, and success metrics; ensure alignment with institutional priorities.
  • Design and maintain detailed project plans, ensuring tasks are appropriately assigned based on team roles and skillsets.
  • Monitor project progress, milestones, and dependencies; evaluate both immediate deliverables and long-term outcomes against defined goals.
  • Manage project budgets, cost tracking, and staffing/resource allocation.
  • Identify, assess, and proactively mitigate risks; forecast potential challenges and remove barriers to successful execution.
  • Exercise sound judgment and decision-making by weighing risks, impacts, and trade-offs to guide project direction.
  • Resolve complex, sensitive, or high-impact issues and escalate as appropriate within governance structures.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation and artifacts.
  • Deliver regular status reports, key metrics, and data-driven insights to stakeholders and executive leadership to support decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Analyze current business processes and system workflows to identify gaps and inefficiencies.
  • Gather and document business and functional requirements.
  • Audit how API integrations, data migration needs, and cloud architecture impact requirements, system design, and overall feasibility.
  • Lead process redesign efforts to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and user experience.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and recommend actionable solutions.
  • Use data, reporting, and KPIs to evaluate outcomes and support decision-making.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between IT teams, functional stakeholders, and external vendors to ensure alignment and effective project delivery.
  • Oversee project execution in partnership with vendor project managers/coordinators to maintain a collaborative, coordinated approach.
  • Work closely with cross-functional leadership and teams to develop solutions, address challenges, and adapt to competing priorities and constraints.
  • Identify potential obstacles and proactively engage executive sponsors or project leadership to remove barriers and maintain momentum.
  • Facilitate governance processes and lead discussions across committees and escalation channels to ensure timely decision-making.
  • Manage vendor relationships, including performance oversight, issue resolution, and escalation coordination.
  • Coordinate with communication and training leads to align project delivery with change management efforts.
  • Provide guidance, support, and clear communication to project team members to ensure alignment, accountability, and successful execution.
  • Influence stakeholders across all levels of the organization and drive collaboration without direct authority.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business or a related field with four years of related professional experience.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based enterprise and/or student solutions.
  • Prior experience within the higher education industry (including FERPA familiarity).
  • Business analysis techniques, including requirements gathering and process mapping.
  • Business process improvement and root cause analysis.
  • Change management and communication strategies.
  • Data analysis and use of metrics/KPIs for decision-making.
  • Vendor management and coordination.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to influence without direct authority and work across organizational boundaries.
