About the role
Piper Companies is seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead complex new product development initiatives within a high-speed connectivity and electronics environment. This role will drive cross-functional project execution, provide technical leadership, and ensure successful delivery of product development programs from concept through production. This is a full-time opportunity located in RTP, NC or Santa Clara, CA, with up to 50-60% travel required initially.
Responsibilities
- Lead product development projects from initiation through launch, ensuring alignment with business objectives, timelines, and customer requirements.
- Serve as the primary point of communication for project status, schedules, risks, action items, and resource requirements.
- Facilitate project meetings, track deliverables, and drive accountability to maintain schedule and milestone commitments.
- Manage project budgets, capital expenditures, product costing activities, and scope changes while ensuring adherence to financial objectives.
- Provide technical leadership throughout the product development lifecycle, including Design for Manufacturability (DFM), manufacturing readiness, and production planning activities.
- Oversee supplier performance, capacity planning, and operational readiness to ensure products can be manufactured and delivered successfully.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related technical discipline.
- 4+ years of project management or product development experience within connectors, electronics, telecommunications, datacenter, networking, manufacturing, or related industries.
- Experience leading cross-functional engineering projects involving new product introduction, manufacturing, and supplier management.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, engineering documentation, and manufacturing procedures.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, root cause analysis, and decision-making capabilities.
- Proficiency with project management tools, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and related business applications.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with technical teams, suppliers, customers, and executive stakeholders across global organizations.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and drive projects to completion with minimal supervision.
- Able to travel up to 50%-60% to sites and offshore manufacturing warehouses.
Pay
Salary range: $70,000 - $100,000
