Technical Project Manager
About the role
The Technical Project Manager is a trusted project implementation leader and advisor to our clients, providing valuable expert guidance around technology implementations, relocations, or enhancements of their IT infrastructure. This includes proactive recommendations to deliver ongoing success. The role involves developing relationships that lead to total technology solutions meeting client needs, delivering additional products and services, increasing sales, profitability, and maintaining client loyalty and retention through project implementation.
At ECI, the leading global provider of managed services, cybersecurity, and business transformation for mid-market financial services organizations, you will stay continuously abreast of technology changes and the needs of our clients. You will act as both a leader and a teacher, training others on project management best practices and principles, while maintaining well-developed financial acumen to drive profitability and balance tradeoffs between time, cost, and quality.
Responsibilities
- Be the single point of accountability for both client-facing and ECI’s economic outcomes related to client-facing projects.
- Represent the ECI brand as a critical client-facing touchpoint between New Logo Sales and CRM functions.
- Function as the top-level escalation point for project work.
- Partner with key stakeholders to define project technology scope, create projections, define schedules, and document delivery expectations.
- Chair internal and client project update meetings regularly to review status, manage risks, and coordinate scheduling.
- Manage project timelines and plans to ensure client objectives are met throughout implementation.
- Oversee all project expenses and manage execution to budget.
- Be responsible for accurate revenue recognition and timely invoicing of project sales values.
- Provide consistent project updates on a defined communication cadence.
- Ensure adherence to ECI PMO playbook practices and tools for project management.
- Deliver across ECI’s entire portfolio while staying updated on technology changes and client needs.
- Act as a liaison between clients, ECI, and technology vendors to orchestrate, schedule, and track major projects.
- Serve as the point of contact for needs gathering and administration, bridging information gaps between client, vendor, and internal resources.
- Coordinate projects, communications, tasks, and status efforts on behalf of the client.
Requirements
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of relevant experience, including managed services provider (MSP) experience.
- Strong MS Word and PowerPoint skills for presentations.
- Experience with client-facing interfaces from both relationship and commercial perspectives.
- Ability to travel locally for client meetings when required.
- Proven track record of owning project budgets and delivering outcomes.
- Well-developed financial acumen to drive profitability and manage tradeoffs between time, cost, and quality.
- Able to own technology projects with a high level of delegation.
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, cloud computing, end-user support, and network security.
- Well-developed influencing skills and a track record of leading diverse teams.
- Ability to juggle multiple ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to apply project management methodologies to reduce project risk throughout the lifecycle.
- Demonstrated knowledge of project accounting principles and practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP or similar certifications.
Schedule
Hybrid role requiring onsite presence in the NY office 3 days a week, with 2 days remote.
