Project Manager

Join HGA’s Interior Design practice in San Jose, CA and make a lasting impact through design. We are seeking a Project Manager to collaborate with our award-winning thought leaders on innovative projects that integrate thoughtful planning, research, sustainability, and architectural excellence. This role focuses on leading project teams, fostering collaboration, and building long-term strategic relationships with clients in the science and technology sector.

Responsibilities

• Project Leadership: Independently manage multiple projects from concept through completion. Develop and oversee project work plans, budgets, schedules, and staffing. Ensure design quality, technical accuracy, and code compliance throughout all phases.
• Client Engagement: Serve as the primary client liaison, building trust and ensuring satisfaction. Lead presentations, facilitate approvals, and translate client goals into actionable strategies.
• Team Coordination: Direct and mentor project teams, fostering collaboration and accountability. Coordinate consultants and stakeholders to ensure integrated project delivery.
• Documentation & Administration: Manage contracts, RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, and change orders. Maintain organized and accurate project documentation in line with firm standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
• Licensure preferred
• 8+ years of project management experience
• Expertise with Project Management software and Microsoft Office products
• Professional experience on increasingly complex projects
• Experience with tenant improvement (TI) and core and shell projects preferred
• Demonstrated experience working on large-scale and multiple smaller-sized, challenging projects simultaneously
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, including clear communication with team members and clients
• Ability to leverage technical skills of teams to deliver projects on budget and on schedule
• Experience with LEED accreditation and Design/Build project delivery method is a plus
• Proficiency with Revit, SketchUp, and other industry-accepted software is preferred

Pay

Salary Range: $110,000 - $132,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
