Technical Project Coordinator

Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of Commercialization – Private Label Spices, the Technical Project Coordinator will play a crucial role in our Commercialization team working to develop and deliver high-quality products that meet both technical and customer requirements. This role will primarily be lab-based with responsibility for taking measurements to inform finished specs, coordinating production filling trials, and coordinating samples for sales and other stakeholders.

Position Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Innovation team to take developed formulas and identify the finished goods specs within the designated container by taking key measurements (e.g. net weight)
  • Translate lab findings into clear and accurate finished product specifications, ensuring alignment with quality, regulatory, and customer standards
  • Evaluate and recommend appropriate packaging solutions for various types of spices, considering factors such as bulk density
  • Collaborate with the Innovation team to plan and coordinate trials with the plant and production teams, testing bottle fill recommendations
  • Owner of end-to-end sample request process. Manage intake process, process samples, and communicate sample status
  • Organize and maintain laboratory sample storage by developing and implementing an inventory tracking system
  • Develop and manage 'product library' to ensure Sales team has clear understanding of current portfolio and cross-functional team members are clear on which raw materials and packaging to commercialize
  • Manage end-to-end bid process to ensure on-time delivery of each cross-functional step
  • Manage entry of SKU specific details in customer-owned portals in collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Maintain a strong focus on task management to meet project timelines and milestones

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Quality, Operations, or a related field
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in a food science, product development, quality, or production, preferably in the food industry
  • Solid understanding of food product development processes, including formulation, sensory evaluation, and quality assurance
  • Strong organizational and task management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines effectively
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey technical information clearly to cross-functional teams
  • Ability to collaborate and work well in a team environment, building relationships with colleagues from various departments
  • Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and tools for food product testing and evaluation
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a dedication to precision in documentation and reporting
  • Problem-solving skills and adaptability to address challenges and changes in project requirements
