Technical Program Manager - Vehicle System Integration
About the role
HireArt is helping an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company find a Technical Program Manager - Vehicle System Integration to serve as the operational engine behind the vehicle's functional architecture. In this role, you'll drive the cross-functional alignment and execution required to translate high-level product definitions into safe, traceable, and technically sound system-level implementations. You'll partner closely with cross-functional teams to ensure engineering teams remain aligned against critical vehicle milestones. The ideal candidate is highly organized, technically curious, and skilled at coordinating complex cross-functional efforts across engineering, safety, validation, and product teams.
Responsibilities
- Manage the lifecycle, governance, and release readiness of System Technical Specifications (STS) across key vehicle development milestones
- Coordinate cross-functional inputs required to support systems engineering deliverables and ensure milestone commitments are met
- Drive execution of the System Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (SFMEA) process, including workshop facilitation, action item tracking, and mitigation follow-through
- Build and maintain dependency tracking across Product, Safety, Vehicle Engineering, Validation, and other stakeholder groups
- Lead system-level change management activities, ensuring Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) are reviewed, communicated, and assessed for downstream impacts
- Identify and resolve cross-functional risks, dependencies, and timeline conflicts before they affect program execution
- Track and report key systems engineering health metrics, including requirement maturity, SFMEA progress, and verification status
- Support systems engineers in defining validation strategies, test asset configurations, and requirements traceability across test environments
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical discipline
- Experience coordinating complex cross-functional engineering programs or technical projects
- Strong organizational, planning, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience managing technical requirements, dependencies, risks, and change control processes
- Ability to communicate effectively with engineering, safety, validation, and executive stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience working in fast-paced product development environments
- This role will require safety boots that conform to ASTM F2412 / F2413 requirements
Bonus qualifications
- Experience supporting systems engineering, vehicle integration, or product development programs
- Familiarity with requirements management, verification, validation, or functional safety processes
- Experience working in automotive, robotics, aerospace, or other complex hardware/software environments
- Experience with engineering lifecycle tools such as Jira, Confluence, Polarion, Jama, or similar platforms

This is a full-time, ongoing contract position staffed via HireArt. It will be onsite and available to candidates who are local to the Foster City, CA area.
