Technical Program Manager

About the role

The purpose of this role is to define project scope based on the client requirements, manage engagement economics as per the project estimates and collaborate with senior client stakeholders to resolve delivery issues.

We are seeking an experienced Technical Program Manager (TPM) with a strong background in data engineering and SQL-based applications to lead strategic technology programmes. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical expertise, programme management capabilities, and stakeholder management skills to drive end-to-end delivery of complex software engineering projects. The TPM will work closely with engineering, product, operations, and business teams to manage large-scale application development, platform modernisation, automation initiatives, and enterprise solutions.

Responsibilities

• Project Planning
  • Develop project scope based on business and resource requirements for a single Line of Business (LOB), ensuring alignment with business objectives and stakeholder expectations.
• Scope, Schedule, and Configuration Management
  • Review key project deliverables prepared by the team to ensure alignment with client expectations, quality standards, and contractual SLAs. Provide feedback and guide technical leads in implementing improvements.
  • Create weekly and monthly MIS reports for a single LOB to track operational, quality, and fulfilment parameters.
  • Escalate deviations from project charter promptly and ensure corrective actions to maintain compliance.
• Resource/Team Management
  • Undertake resource planning and allocation in line with project needs and manage attrition and performance outcomes.
  • Conduct performance appraisals and guide team members on professional growth and improvement.
• Quality & Risk Management
  • Proactively identify and assess potential project risks or issues, implement mitigation methods, and collaborate with quality assurance teams to integrate quality planning into project execution.
• Engagement Economics
  • Create project estimates in line with project scope, approach, milestones and manage change requests.
• Pursuit Management
  • Assist in preparing proposals and estimates for upcoming engagements within one LOB.
• Stakeholder Management
  • Collaborate with technical teams and client Directors for sprint planning, delivery issues and project updates.
  • Conduct regular cadence with Workforce Management Group and Quality Assurance teams to ensure resource fulfilment and quality adherence.
• Technical Program Leadership
  • Lead multiple concurrent technical programmes from initiation through deployment and support.
  • Define programme roadmaps, milestones, dependencies, risks, and success metrics.
  • Drive execution using Agile, Scrum, and hybrid delivery methodologies.
  • Manage cross-functional teams comprising architects, developers, UI engineers, QA teams, DevOps engineers, and business stakeholders.
  • Ensure timely delivery of programme objectives while maintaining quality and compliance standards.
• Application Development & Technology Delivery
  • Oversee development and enhancement of enterprise applications using data engineering technologies.
  • Partner with engineering teams to design scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions.
  • Drive application modernisation and automation initiatives.
  • Review solution architectures and provide technical guidance to delivery teams.
  • Ensure adherence to coding standards, security requirements, and best practices.
  • Leverage SQL for reporting, analysis, troubleshooting, and data validation activities.
  • Work with engineering and analytics teams to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Monitor application health, operational KPIs, and performance metrics.
• Stakeholder & Governance Management
  • Conduct executive programme reviews and governance meetings.
  • Communicate programme status, risks, mitigation plans, and key achievements to leadership.
  • Manage customer expectations and ensure stakeholder alignment across global teams.
  • Coordinate with onsite and offshore teams to drive successful programme execution.
• Risk Management & Continuous Improvement
  • Identify programme risks, dependencies, and technical challenges proactively.
  • Establish mitigation and contingency plans.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on delivery excellence, automation, and operational efficiency.
