Technical Program Manager
This posting is for a contract assignment and is not a full-time employment opportunity with Amazon. Candidates selected for roles will be employed as contract workers through Amazon’s approved 3rd party Direct Source provider for the duration of the specified project.
About the role
We are seeking a Technical Program Manager to support a large-scale global infrastructure and security migration program across hundreds of fulfillment and delivery sites. This person will own the coordination and execution of multiple site migrations at once, working closely with site leaders, technical teams, vendors, and field resources to keep deployments on track. The role is highly visible for someone who is proactive, organized, and comfortable working through ambiguity. The ideal candidate can take broad direction, determine what needs to happen next, and independently drive programs through completion.
Responsibilities
- Manage and track multiple concurrent technical deployment projects across a global site portfolio
- Build and maintain project schedules, dependencies, critical paths, and parallel workstreams
- Coordinate site kickoffs and ongoing communication with technical teams, vendors, site leaders, and field resources
- Identify risks and blockers early, escalate when needed, and manage schedule or priority trade-offs
- Drive stakeholders toward key milestones and ensure projects remain on schedule
- Support basic troubleshooting using technical documentation and established runbooks
- Provide clear project updates and tailor communication to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Support successful handoff to site teams following deployment
Requirements
- 5+ years of Technical Program Management, Program Management, or Technical Project Management experience
- Experience managing a high volume of concurrent projects, sites, or workstreams
- Strong project schedule, dependency, risk, and escalation management skills
- Experience working within infrastructure, technology, security, hardware deployment, or technical migration environments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence and drive action without direct authority
- Ability to work independently, take ownership, and operate effectively in ambiguous environments
Nice to Have
- Experience managing large-scale, multi-site or global technology deployments
- MFA, identity/access management, network security, access control, or hardware migration experience
- Previous experience working within Amazon or a similarly large-scale technology environment
- Data analysis, Business Intelligence, dashboarding, or data visualization experience
