About the role
The Technical Program Manager will partner with engineering leaders across various departments to drive complex cross-functional programs from planning through execution. Key responsibilities include identifying, prioritizing, and resolving software and hardware issues, developing project plans, managing risks, tracking progress, and providing clear visibility into program health.
Responsibilities
- Partner with product teams to identify, prioritize, and triage software and hardware issues.
- Work with engineering managers and technical leads to develop solutions and drive issues through resolution.
- Cook up cross-functional efforts to improve software and hardware reliability and prevent future issues.
- Develop and maintain project plans, milestones, schedules, and risk mitigation strategies for complex engineering programs.
- Identify program risks, communicate impacts, and proactively drive mitigation plans.
- Prepare and deliver executive-level updates on program status, milestones, risks, and key accomplishments.
- Travel domestically as needed to support fleet operations.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent practical experience
- 6+ years of experience in engineering, technical program management, or management consulting
- Proven experience managing complex cross-functional technical programs
- Strong understanding of software development processes and project management methodologies
- Experience using project management tools such as Smartsheet, Jira, Gantt charts, risk matrices, or similar platforms
- Demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships with engineering leaders and cross-functional stakeholders
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to both technical and executive audiences
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting autonomous vehicles, robotics, automotive, or other complex hardware and software development programs
- Experience working in fast-paced, highly cross-functional engineering organizations
