Responsibilities
- Major Launch Coordination: Own end-to-end coordination for Anza's most consequential 2026 launches; Alpenglow's path to mainnet, MCP's initial release, IBRL milestones, and the validator-facing rollout of changes like SIMD-0123 (Block Revenue Distribution).
- Drive narrative development, content production, spokesperson selection, timing, and channel strategy across Anza, the Solana Foundation, and ecosystem partners.
- Release Management: Drive the marketing motion for the Agave release cycle, including the upcoming 4.2 release and the parallel stable/beta tracks. Determine what gets highlighted, who speaks to what, when announcements drop, and how the story unfolds across our blog, social, GitHub release notes, technical documentation, and press.
- Build a repeatable release playbook so future releases ship with consistent quality and momentum.
- Technical Content and Positioning: Translate consensus changes (Alpenglow, MCP), networking and execution improvements (XDP, direct mapping, block limit increases), and operator/developer experience work (scheduler bindings, rent reduction, larger transaction sizes) into clear messaging for validators, developers, and the broader ecosystem.
- Write and edit launch posts, deep-dive explainers, and supporting collateral.
Social and Channel Ownership
- Manage Anza's X (Twitter) presence end-to-end, setting editorial direction, drafting and scheduling posts, amplifying engineering wins, coordinating launch-day social rollouts, and engaging directly with the validator, developer, and broader Solana community.
- Treat the account as a primary surface for Anza's voice, not an afterthought.
Media and Foundation Coordination
- Build relationships with crypto and infrastructure media and coordinate closely with the Solana Foundation on joint narrative, event timing, and media strategy across major milestones.
Project Management
- Own the operational backbone of Anza's marketing and communications motion, running content calendars, tracking cross-team alignment on launches, coordinating review cycles, and managing the dependencies and timelines that keep external rollouts on track.
Messaging and Narrative
- Develop messaging frameworks and positioning for Agave and Anza's broader product surface, and ensure narrative consistency across all external touchpoints — from GitHub release notes to mainstage conference keynotes.
Requirements
- Background: A former engineer who moved into marketing, or several years of hardcore technical marketing in infrastructure, developer tools, distributed systems, or protocol-level crypto.
- Technical Fluency: Demonstrated ability to read code descriptions, technical specs, or protocol documentation and independently form a point of view on what matters.
- Familiarity with validator clients, or networking is a strong plus.
- Launch Experience: Proven track record running complex, multi-stakeholder launches end-to-end in technical product environments, ideally launches involving multiple independent organizations.
- Writing: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially in technical writing, you can ship a launch post that engineers respect, and non-experts can follow.
- Project Management: Strong instincts for driving cross-functional execution without becoming a source of friction. Comfortable holding partners accountable to commitments without being pushy or process-heavy.
- Ecosystem Knowledge: Knowledge of and passion for the Solana and Web3 ecosystems. Familiarity with Agave, validator clients, SIMDs, or consensus-level concepts is highly desirable.
- Disposition: Scrappy, low ego, self-motivated, looking to dive right in.
Preferred Qualifications
- Existing relationships with crypto/infrastructure media or developer communities.
- Experience coordinating launches across multiple independent organizations (foundations, client teams, ecosystem partners).
- Active participation in Bitcoin/Ethereum/Solana projects or the open-source community.
