Technical Product Manager, Migration Platform

CARET · California, United States · 2 days ago
On-siteMarketing$140k–$150k/yrFull-time

About the role

We're building a team to make migration a core capability of the CARET Legal platform. This team will create an AI-accelerated migration platform that helps law firms move onto CARET with greater speed, confidence, and predictability. This is a ground-up platform build, and we're hiring the Technical Product Manager to own its product direction, roadmap, and priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Own the product direction, roadmap, and prioritization for the migration platform.
  • Develop deep knowledge of the CARET Legal data model and how it maps to application behavior, workflows, and customer outcomes.
  • Gain an in-depth understanding of legal practice management and accounting, including the workflows, customer problems, and data relationships CARET Legal solves and supports.
  • Shape ambiguous problems into clearly scoped, buildable work with the Engineering Tech Lead, making disciplined tradeoffs around scope, value, and time.
  • Own committed product work through delivery, making deliberate scope tradeoffs when new information or complexity emerges.
  • Translate customer and operational needs into product priorities, balancing time-to-value, delivery capacity, platform investment, and customer commitments.
  • Define and track measures of migration success, including time-to-value, cutover experience, delivery predictability, quality, and customer outcomes.
  • Partner closely with migration advisors, delivery teams, customers, and engineering so real-world migration experience shapes product decisions early.
  • Develop product strategy that turns recurring migration challenges into durable platform capabilities.

Requirements

  • 6+ years in product management, including substantial experience with technical or data-intensive products such as platforms, integrations, migration systems, developer tooling, or workflow infrastructure.
  • A track record of owning product direction and outcomes on a high-performing technical team, from problem definition through delivery and iteration.
  • Strong technical fluency and the ability to engage deeply with engineers on data flows, system behavior, architecture, constraints, and tradeoffs.
  • Strong judgment about scope. You would rather ship a smaller thing that works than a bigger thing that slips.
  • Clear, direct written communication. You can make a sharp case for what to build, what not to build, and why.
  • Experience working across engineering, operations, delivery, and customer-facing teams where priorities compete and tradeoffs have real consequences.

Qualifications

  • Nice to have: Experience in legal, fintech, healthcare, or another domain with high standards for correctness, confidentiality, and compliance.
  • Familiarity with modern data architecture concepts including data pipelines, transformation, orchestration, APIs, and event-driven systems.
  • Experience taking a technical product or platform from concept through production launch and subsequent iteration.
  • Experience with enterprise onboarding, implementation, integrations, or data migration workflows.

What We’re Looking For

  • Passionate about having a significant impact and shaping the foundations of a rapidly growing product.
  • Unique background, experiences, and skillsets valued.

Benefits

  • Flexible PTOMedical, Dental, Paid Sick Days, Vision, and Supplemental Coverage
  • Flexible Spending Account
  • Health Savings Account
  • 401(k) match

Pay range: $140,000 - $150,000
