Our client is seeking an experienced Technical Product Manager to join their team in Atlanta, GA.
Responsibilities
- Work with product, design, and operations teams to deliver innovative ways to serve learners
- Determine what products to make, ensure those products get made, and report back on how users respond to products
- Collaborate with engineering and design teams to strategically plan products and their development
- Assess partnerships and licensing opportunities with external third parties, run beta and pilot programs with early-stage products, and analyze the competition
- Understand, discuss, and challenge architectural concepts, trade-offs, and new opportunities with technical team members
- Make informed decisions about prioritizing new product features, reducing technical debt, and improving resiliency
- Work with engineering and key teams to deliver scalable and extensible software solutions to support business needs
- Coordinate with business line product managers and other component teams to define your team's roadmap and delivery of product features
- Translate business needs, user needs, and technological capabilities into user stories and product specifications for successful implementations
- Document detailed acceptance criteria that developers and QA can rely upon to complete their tasks
- Drive Agile principles and methodologies, including owning the team backlogs, defining and prioritizing epics, features, user stories, and other artifacts to support development goals
- Define objective requirements with success criteria
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in product management, data engineering, or a related technical role, with at least 3 years focused on data governance or data platform products
- Hands-on experience with enterprise data governance tools such as Collibra or similar
- Strong working knowledge of Databricks Unity Catalog, including data access policies, attribute tagging, and Delta Sharing
- Demonstrated experience working on multi-cloud infrastructure platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and understanding cross-cloud data governance challenges
- Advanced SQL proficiency — able to write complex queries, debug pipeline failures, and validate data quality rules independently
- Practical experience with ETL/ELT pipeline technologies (e.g., Apache Spark, dbt, Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, Airflow)
- Proven ability to translate ambiguous business requirements into structured, engineering-ready user stories and acceptance criteria
- Exceptional storytelling and communication skills — able to simplify complexity for both executive and technical audiences
- Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts and their application to data governance use cases (automated classification, PII detection, lineage inference)
- Experience running agile product delivery including backlog grooming, sprint planning, and stakeholder demos
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with data mesh or data fabric architecture patterns
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, and their technical implementation in data platforms
- Exposure to AI governance platforms and responsible AI principles (model lineage, bias detection, explainability)
- Knowledge of metadata standards such as Collibra, Open Lineage, Apache Atlas
- Certifications in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) or data governance tools (Collibra, Databricks)

This is a hybrid position located in Atlanta, GA.
Pay
The approximate pay range for this position is between $45.00 and $55.00 per hour. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location.
