Technical Procedure Writers

Duties

• Develop new, revised, or modified technical procedures for dimensional inspection, material testing, metrology, procurement, radiography, and weld inspection.
• Comply with Y15-232, Technical Procedure Process, and TPAT.
• Occasionally develop or revise administrative procedures and comply with Y15-235, Administrative Management Requirements Process, and APAT.
• Develop Enterprise procedures applicable to Y-12 and Pantex.
• Determine technical requirements based on DOE Orders, Standards, QA Program Description, Integrated Quality Manual, NCS documents, and Hazard Analysis documents.
• Prepare and coordinate procedure reviews and resolve comments.
• Implement hazard controls, capture quality and performance data, and ensure procedures can be performed as written through verification and validation.

Education

• Requires a Bachelor of Science degree with 10+ years of experience in technical disciplines, or
• In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, a technical background with 18 years of experience in writing technical procedures in a commercial nuclear or Weapons Complex may be considered.
