About the role

Dal-Tile, a subsidiary of Mohawk Industries and the largest manufacturer of tile and natural stone in the United States, is seeking a Technical Operator I. This role involves adjusting industrial machinery and equipment to meet product parameters, ensuring optimal production efficiencies, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate and adjust industrial machinery and equipment to meet product specifications.
• Monitor operation of all machines within the department to ensure optimal production efficiencies.
• Perform quality checks of work and document findings on appropriate paperwork.
• Clean machinery, equipment, and work area using provided supplies and utensils.
• Maintain and fix production equipment within the assigned department.
• Assist in training operators within the department.
• Collaborate with technicians and contractors on training procedures and machinery maintenance.
• Maintain a clean work area, including proper care and storage of tools and equipment.
• Communicate quality issues and problems to supervisor/manager.
• Monitor product volume, quality, and record data.
• Comply with and support Environment, Health, and Safety policies and procedures.
• Perform fine-tuning of the sorting line to meet pieces-per-minute requirements.
• Knowledge of flaw master functions, label machine systems, and adjustments.
• Adjust techno speeds and parameters as needed.
• Use a basic tool list supplied by the department for minor adjustments.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• Technical Certificate preferred.
• 1+ years of previous manufacturing/production experience.
• Good oral communication and listening skills.
• Ability to understand and speak basic English.

Work Environment

• Routinely work at heights requiring fall protection.
• Regularly required to stand, use hands, and reach with hands and arms.
• Required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; may occasionally sit, climb, or balance.
• May lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities include close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
• Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
