Technical Master Data Analyst
About the role
The role leads the design, development, maintenance, and optimization of applications and workflows supporting third-party enrichment processes, address validation, data matching, and data quality operations. It evaluates business needs, drives improvements to processes and tools, and applies advanced problem-solving techniques to resolve complex technical issues.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary technical SME for third-party enrichment workflows (such as Dun & Bradstreet), Loqate workflows, and MatchIt matching/cleansing engines.
- Own end-to-end application functionality, integrations, performance, and reliability.
- Conduct complex analysis of data quality issues, matching logic, and address validation rules and implement improvements.
- Lead system upgrades, enhancements, and optimization initiatives aligned with business and MDM requirements.
- Apply advanced analytical skills to troubleshoot complex technical issues requiring L4-level expertise and provide final-tier technical direction for escalated issues.
- Develop and maintain application components and automation using Java, Python, APIs, and SQL.
- Support data transformation, batch processing, and integration with upstream and downstream systems.
- Evaluate and implement solutions that improve scalability, accuracy, and performance of matching and validation processes.
- Lead or contribute to technical workstreams within projects, including S/4 readiness and future MDM hub initiatives.
- Develop project plans and technical recommendations aligned with business needs and strategies.
- Collaborate with business, MDM, customer master, QA, and integration teams to ensure alignment of technical solutions with data quality standards.
- Provide L4 support for escalated production issues requiring subject matter expertise, including deep-level troubleshooting and higher-tier guidance.
- Develop and maintain SOPs, runbooks, and system documentation.
- Support audit, compliance, and data governance activities related to enrichment workflows, matching, and address validation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, or technology field (completed and verified prior to start)
- Six (6) years of relevant IT experience in a private, public, government or military environment
Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience with Java, Python, APIs, SQL, and data transformation.
- Proven experience with data quality and matching tools such as Loqate or MatchIt.
- Experience with third-party enrichment processes (e.g., Dun & Bradstreet), address validation, and customer data matching.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical workstreams and mentor technical resources.
- Strong problem-solving, systems analysis, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of MDM, customer master data, and data governance practices preferred.
- Exposure to cloud platforms, DevOps tools, and Agile delivery environments is a plus.

Pay
The expected compensation range for this position is $124,127 - $151,710, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible.
Schedule
This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN.
Travel
May include up to 5% domestic travel.
Relocation
May be authorized.
