Technical Manager of Quality – RF/Wireless Video Equipment
Position Overview
We are seeking a technically skilled Quality Manager to oversee the global quality assurance processes for our manufacturing facilities in the USA. This USA based role will involve managing the quality of outgoing products, the quality of incoming materials from suppliers, maintaining compliance with industry standards, and fostering strong relationships with customers to address and resolve any product issues.
Key Responsibilities
Global Quality Oversight: Ensure the implementation and maintenance of quality standards across both manufacturing facilities
Supplier Quality Management: Track and assess the incoming quality from suppliers, focusing on Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs), and maintain control charts to analyze and report on supplier performance
Failure Analysis: Create, retain, and analyze failure statistics related to products, initiating corrective actions as needed within manufacturing and in collaboration with engineering teams
Quality level tracking: Create and track KPIs, institute corrective actions and pro-actively improve delivered quality, out of the box performance and reliability of products. Posting these results in the factory and to upper management for visibility
Reliability: Track long term reliability of products, surfacing trends, provide improvements, and driving opportunities to improve ongoing delivered product reliability
ISO Certification Maintenance: Ensure compliance with ISO certification standards and maintain Aerospace required certifications (AS9100), including preparation for audits and reviews
Customer Relations: Develop and maintain rapport with customers facing severe equipment issues, leading remedial actions and follow-up measures to ensure customer satisfaction
Team Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with development engineering and production teams to drive continuous quality improvements and problem resolutions
Reporting: Prepare and present quality performance reports to management, showcasing trends, insights, and recommendations for improvements
Tier 2/3: Some number of off-hours, Tier 2 or support will be required on an on-call duty roster
Qualifications
Minimum of a Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering degree
Additional Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a technical discipline, statistical analysis or operations management is desirable
5+ years of experience in quality management within the electronics manufacturing sector specifically for RF infrastructure or wireless video equipment
Strong knowledge of quality management systems and tools, including ISO and AS9100 standards
Excellent analytical skills with a data-driven approach to problem solving
Six Sigma Black Belt desirable
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working with diverse teams and customers with superior written and English verbal skills
Willingness to travel globally (up to 15%) as required
Work Schedule
This is a full time position, requiring five days a week in the Colchester office.
