Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Technical Implementation Leads and Software Developers, fostering technical excellence while delivering complex, customer-facing healthcare interoperability implementations and strategic initiatives
- Provide hands-on technical leadership throughout the implementation lifecycle, including discovery, solution architecture, estimation, technical execution, troubleshooting, testing, deployment, operational readiness, and post-go-live support
- Leverage deep technical expertise in Java, HL7 FHIR, HL7 v2, CDA/CCDA, REST APIs, SQL, data mapping, and enterprise integration patterns to guide solution design, implementation, troubleshooting, and technical decision-making
- Participate in customer-facing technical discussions, escalations, root cause analysis, mitigation planning, writing executive summaries, and implementation troubleshooting activities
- Collaborate closely with Product, QA, CloudOps, Support, Architecture, Agile Leads, and Customer Success teams to deliver scalable and supportable customer solutions
- Develop and maintain reusable implementation assets including buildbooks, implementation playbooks, troubleshooting guides, reference architectures, and solution/problem pattern libraries
- Identify recurring implementation challenges, operational gaps, customer pain points, and technical risks and translate them into actionable process improvements, feature requests, and bug reports
- Drive implementation quality through technical reviews, implementation standards, testing practices, peer mentorship, and reduction of delivery defects and rework
- Mentor, guide, and support Technical Implementation Leads and Software Developers through technical coaching, prioritization guidance, workload management, and professional development
- Ensure implementation work is properly documented through Jira, technical documentation, testing evidence, operational handover materials, and implementation standards
- Research, evaluate, and recommend technologies, implementation patterns, and operational improvements for new and existing customer solutions and platform capabilities
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in software development, technical implementations, healthcare interoperability, clinical informatics, or other senior-level technical delivery roles, with a proven track record of leading complex enterprise implementations
- 3+ years of experience leading, mentoring, and managing technical teams, with demonstrated success developing high-performing Technical Leads, Software Developers, or Implementation Engineers
- Strong hands-on technical expertise across the software implementation lifecycle, including customer discovery, solution architecture, estimation, Java development, implementation planning, technical troubleshooting, testing, deployment, and operational readiness
- Expertise in Java, Kubernetes, Docker, cloud-native architectures, distributed systems, event-driven architectures, monitoring and observability, healthcare platform deployments, and modern cloud implementation practices
- Demonstrated experience troubleshooting complex customer-facing implementation, integration, data ingestion, scalability, performance, infrastructure, deployment, and operational issues within enterprise software environments
- Experience designing and implementing enterprise integrations using HL7 FHIR, HL7 v2, CDA/CCDA, REST APIs, SQL, data mapping, validation frameworks, and interoperability best practices
- Strong experience working with relational and distributed database technologies, including PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDB, or other enterprise database platforms
- Deep understanding of software development and implementation lifecycle management, including solution design, estimation, APIs, source control, code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, build processes, testing strategies, deployment coordination, release management, and version control
- Excellent healthcare industry experience, including payer, provider, interoperability, terminology services, CMS initiatives, or other regulated healthcare implementation programs
- Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, organizational, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences while confidently leading customer discussions, executive presentations, technical workshops, and high-priority escalations
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Informatics, information Systems, or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience
