Technical Lead

About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Technical Lead with more than 3 years of experience to join our dynamic Business Support team. This position is ideal for a candidate with strong hands-on development experience and proven leadership in automotive multimedia systems, capable of driving cross-domain technical programs, resolving complex issues, and collaborating with global stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead multimedia system development across planning, design, and release phases.
• Manage suppliers and cross-functional teams.
• Align automotive milestones and software releases with stakeholders.
• Define the project development scope for the NA region, considering situational conditions (budget, resources, capabilities, schedule).
• Manage the supplier for schedule alignment and risk mitigation.
• Collaborate with program managers and product owners to assess the risk and make decisions accordingly.
• Triage in-market issues, especially cross-domain areas, including deep-dive in technical discussions (specification study, user impact analysis, system architectural review).
• Communicate with quality and factory teams to align on overall automotive milestones and address any issue/risk points with a countermeasure plan.

Requirements

• Develop a strong understanding of multimedia architecture (head Unit, navigation, voice assistant, media, SXM, Connected audio, etc).
• Responsible for multimedia products from planning, development, launch, quality assurance, and release.
• Support in aligning overall automotive milestones and SW release schedule with stakeholders by collaborating with headquarters in Japan.
• Define the project development scope for the NA region, considering situational conditions (budget, resources, capabilities, schedule).
• Manage the supplier for schedule alignment and risk mitigation.
• Collaborate with program managers and product owners to assess the risk and make decisions accordingly.
• Triage in-market issues, especially cross-domain areas, including deep-dive in technical discussions (specification study, user impact analysis, system architectural review).
• Communicate with quality and factory teams to align on overall automotive milestones and address any issue/risk points with a countermeasure plan.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or related field; and/or commensurate work experience.
• 3+ years of proven experience in vehicle multimedia development.
• Strong understanding of automotive multimedia (MM) related hardware and software stacks.
• Expert on PowerPoint and strong presentation skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
• Ability to work in fast-paced teams with quick decision-making.
• Possess strong technical and product management skills to communicate and drive suppliers/stakeholders.
• Able to work closely with design, software, firmware, testing, and manufacturing teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and resolve issues promptly.

Preferred Qualifications

• Executive reporting experience.
• Business Japanese communication skills (read/write) are not mandatory but are a big plus.
