Technical Lead

Responsibilities

• Open problem cases with IBM and other vendors, ask questions, prepare and send dumps.
• Perform install work on CICS and associated products using SMP/E with in-depth knowledge.
• Install security on CICS and associated products, and create ACF2 security rules as they pertain to CICS.
• Gather and manipulate SMF data, specifically CICS 110 records, with a moderate skill set.
• Diagnose problems to determine root cause and remediation.
• Adhere to defined middleware standards and contribute to their development and improvement.
• Recommend middleware and utility upgrades aligned with client and platform requirements.
• Evaluate, download, install, update, and apply preventive and remedial maintenance for middleware platforms.
• Perform and support ongoing middleware configuration changes to ensure system stability and performance.
• Manage maintenance, upgrades, and configuration changes for client third-party supplier middleware utilities.
• Optimize middleware performance through proactive monitoring, tuning, and configuration adjustments.
• Provide 24/7 operational support for middleware systems and associated utilities.
• Perform middleware system recovery activities to ensure high availability and resilience.
• Provide technical guidance and advice to application development teams on middleware integration.
• Support application messaging and transaction platforms including MQ for z/OS and CICS environments.

Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of IBM/vendor support processes.
• In-depth knowledge of SMP/E for CICS and associated product installations.
• In-depth knowledge of ACF2 security, including installation and rule creation for CICS.
• Moderate skill set in SMF data manipulation, specifically CICS 110 records.
• Strong problem determination skills to diagnose and resolve issues.

$100,000 - $110,000 a year
