Technical Lab Manager for NQCP

At the Novo Nordisk Foundation Quantum Computing Program (NQCP), we are building a talented and diverse international team to create a cutting-edge quantum computing program in Copenhagen, Denmark. Based at the Niels Bohr Institute—where Quantum Mechanics was formulated 100 years ago—NQCP is driving research and innovation across scalable quantum processor technologies, quantum-classical control and readout interfaces, and quantum algorithms and applications. Our long-term mission is to develop fault-tolerant quantum computing hardware and algorithms that solve life-science-relevant chemical and biological problems.

About Us

The Atom Fabrication group combines nanofabrication and atomic physics to explore fabrication methods that leverage the precision of lasers at the scale of individual atoms. This intersection of established fields yields rich physics with both fundamental importance and significant commercial potential.

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical support for laboratory activities, including close collaboration with the NBI mechanical workshop.
• Maintain laboratory infrastructure and coordinate with external contractors and service providers.
• Provide IT and software support for laboratory control systems and automation.
• Support data management practices and ensure good data hygiene across laboratory activities.
• Assist with the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment and experimental setups.
• Contribute to the continued development and operation of the UHV laboratory facilities.

Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• Experience working in a laboratory, research, or technical environment.
• Strong practical and technical problem-solving skills.
• The ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a multidisciplinary team.

Pay

Salary is determined by the Collective Agreement concerning academics in the state sector, with negotiation for salary supplement possible based on seniority.

Schedule

• 37 hours per week on average.
• Flexible working hours.
• Position limited until 31 December 2029.
