About the role
This position is internally classified as Technical Sales Support and will be full-time onsite in our Baton Rouge office. This is a new location and we are open to discussing potential office locations during the process.
Responsibilities
- Help solve customer technical problems and professionally walk them through the installation, training, and support of new and existing products.
- Travel 50% or more in a month.
- Provide technical training (up to 10 people) on products as needed either in the field or in the office.
- Conduct technical site surveys.
- Provide service and customer support both in the field and over the phone.
- Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions.
- Document processes and produce timely and detailed trip reports.
- Cooperate with the team and share information across the organization.
- Comprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations to the client.
- Effectively communicate and cooperate with Technical Services and share information across the organization.
- Master installation and configuration of Wavetronix products.
- Learn intersection and controller cabinet basic operation.
- Perform at least 5 solo technical customer visits.
Requirements
- 3+ years in technical sales or advanced networking support in LAN/WAN/etc.
- Self-starter.
- Ability to execute presentations to large groups.
- Previous field service experience in traffic signal/ITS cabinets (at least 5 years).
- Able to work flexible shifts and adapt workflow to changing project schedules.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Intrinsically motivated and enjoy working with the customer.
- Have a basic understanding of networking.
- Be excited about personal development and eager to engage in development training.
- Travel as required within and between territories.
Qualifications
- Technical degree (EE, EET) or certifications in ITS/traffic industry preferred.
Skills
- Master installation and configuration of Wavetronix products.
- Comprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations to the client.
- Effectively communicate and cooperate with Technical Services and share information across the organization.
