What You'll Do
- Lead discovery with stakeholders to understand current-state workflows, pain points, controls, and desired outcomes.
- Distill ambiguity into clarity: write crisp problem statements, scope boundaries, assumptions, risks, and success measures.
- Translate business needs into delivery-ready artifacts: process flows, user stories, acceptance criteria, and non-functional requirements.
- Partner with engineers and product owners to refine requirements, resolve tradeoffs, and keep execution unblocked.
- Support testing and validation: define test scenarios, help with UAT coordination, and ensure delivered features match intent.
- Maintain traceability: align requirements to outcomes and support auditability where needed (controls, approvals, data lineage).
- Use AI tools responsibly to accelerate analysis and documentation (summarization, drafting, comparison, gap analysis), while validating accuracy and protecting sensitive information.
- Communicate clearly and consistently: provide status, decisions, and open questions in a way that builds trust.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Functional Analyst, Technical BA, or similar role in software delivery.
- Strong discovery and requirements skills: you can move from conversations to structured, testable requirements quickly.
- Comfort in technical discussions: APIs, data flows, basic system behavior, and how to ask the right questions of engineers.
- Excellent written communication: your artifacts are clear, concise, and usable by engineering and business partners.
- Strong stakeholder management: you build rapport, handle conflict professionally, and create alignment without force.
- Able to think in workflows and data: process mapping, edge cases, exceptions, and operational.
- High integrity and maturity: you are transparent, consistent, and trusted especially under pressure.
- Nice to have: experience in operations, finance, accounting, or control-oriented domains (reconciliations, reporting, hand-offs, approvals); familiarity with agile delivery (stories, backlogs, iteration planning); experience working with data stores and queries (SQL basics); exposure to event-driven or workflow-based systems (messaging, orchestration).
