About the role

The Technical Network Expert supports in design, implementation, and sustainment of high-performance computing (HPC) environments. This role provides critical expertise in network design, advanced troubleshooting, and system integration across Linux, Windows, and UNIX infrastructures.

Responsibilities

  • Provides Tier 4 Lustre support to the HPC team, delivering advanced storage architecture, configuration, tuning, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Installs, configures, tunes, troubleshoots, and administers virtualization platforms such as VMware, Xen, and Solaris containers.
  • Supports cloud/data storage implementations including Hadoop and IBM BigInsights.
  • Supports Linux/UNIX storage support on RedHat, SUSE, and Solaris (file service and Fibre Channel connectivity).
  • Manages clustered file systems such as GPFS and Lustre.
  • Supports FC networking with Brocade Fibre Channel switch fabrics.
  • Supports enterprise storage arrays and solid-state drives (SSD).
  • Supports NAS protocols and appliances such as NFS/CIFS-based server/storage appliances.
  • Utilizes storage tools like HPSE; Data Domain and similar deduplication products.
  • Manages incident and ticket management using Remedy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent experience (10+ years).
  • DoD 8570 IAT II level certification required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 days per week office presence.
  • Office location: Columbia, Maryland.
  • No relocation offered.

Skills

  • Specialized expertise in areas such as high-performance computing (HPC), automated processing systems, distributed software design, and secure hosting and networking solutions.
  • Experience with Linux, Windows, and UNIX infrastructures.
  • Knowledge of virtualization platforms, cloud/data storage implementations, clustered file systems, FC networking, enterprise storage arrays, and NAS protocols.

Pay

$89,200 - $217,170 yearly.
