Job Description The Technical Engineering Function intern manages and optimizes maintenance spare parts inventory and consumable supplies to ensure maximum equipment uptime and operational efficiency. This role supports maintenance operations through accurate inventory management, timely procurement, stock level optimization, and parts availability while driving continuous improvement initiatives aligned with TPM, Lean Manufacturing, and cost reduction objectives. The position is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy, minimizing stockouts and excess inventory, supporting preventive maintenance activities, and improving storeroom organization and processes to enhance overall plant reliability and performance. Key Responsibilities Maintain accurate inventory of spare parts, tools, and consumable suppliesPerform cycle counts, investigate inventory discrepancies, and implement corrective actions to maintain inventory accuracyMonitor stock levels and initiate replenishment activities to ensure critical parts availability while minimizing excess inventoryMaintain proper labeling, storage, and 5S organization standards within the storeroomGenerate purchase requisitions and track ordersIssue parts against work orders in CMMSMaintain accurate inventory, purchasing, and asset data within ERP and CMMS systemsAnalyze inventory usage trends, identify optimization opportunities, reduce costs, and develop/report KPIsDrive continuous improvement initiatives focused on inventory management, storeroom organization, and process efficiencyEnsure compliance with safety and EHS requirementsManage obsolete and slow-moving inventory while identifying opportunities for cost savings and inventory reductionSupport TPM initiatives through effective spare parts managementCollaborate with maintenance, engineering, purchasing, and operations teams to support equipment uptime and plant performance Qualifications Currently enrolled in a technical degree program.Basic computer skills are required, with a strong emphasis on Microsoft Excel knowledge. The majority of the day-to-day activities in this role include data entry and management done within Excel. Interest and ability to learn CMMS/ERP systems, inventory management.Prefer candidates with maintenance parts knowledge.
