Operation Technology Technical Intern

About the role

Xcel Energy is seeking an Operation Technology Technical Intern to gain insight and exposure to the SCADA EMS construction project work. The intern will work with the IT-OT Modernization (NSP/SPS - EMS Team) and will develop skills for technical understanding of SCADA systems and EMS architecture.

Responsibilities

• Develop technical understanding of SCADA systems and EMS architecture
• Support with construction project implementation
• Provide support with daily tasks and needs of Transmission Operations and Commercial Operations teams

Requirements

• Current student, Sophomore or above
• Enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a degree in computer science, management information systems, computer engineering, engineering, mathematics, analytics, or business
• Able to commute to the Lookout Center in Golden, CO
• Able to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours a week) or part-time during the spring (up to 20 hours a week)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
• Strong work ethic and initiative
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Must be able to prioritize tasks and have better organization skills

Qualifications

• High academic standing - GPA of 3.0 or higher (preferred)
