Technical Engagement Manager

About the Role

Presidio is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Engagement Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, adept at engaging with clients, leading technical teams, and overseeing the successful implementation of various IT solutions. This role involves the successful delivery of professional services engagements, acting as an architect, delivery lead, and QA reviewer, while leading multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams. We are particularly looking for TEMs who will partner with both delivery teams and the customer’s organization to drive success for large new transformational engagements and grow our existing footprint at large customers.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple technical engagements for a small set of named customers across strategy and migrations, IT transformation, and modernization initiatives.
• Own technical delivery (end-to-end) responsibilities, including achieving and continuously improving quality and time-to-market metrics.
• Primary ownership of customer satisfaction for named customer engagements.
• Manage product requirements, technical considerations, and decisions to deliver the desired customer outcome.
• Invest time to understand the customer’s long and short-term business goals and align Presidio’s priorities to deliver both tactical wins and lay the foundation for longer-term success.
• Lead and deliver workshops for IT initiatives.
• Lead and deliver technology strategy sessions for customers, engaging C-level leaders, architects, business stakeholders, and engineering teams.
• Proactively ensure that technology decisions, investments, and capabilities map to business outcomes.
• Translate business requirements to technical requirements and vice versa.
• Take primary ownership of engagements in challenging situations and work with stakeholders to drive success.
• Understand customers’ organizational culture and align Presidio’s delivery teams and processes for the fastest path to success.
• Quickly assimilate into the client team, project team, and culture, becoming a valuable contributor.
• Prioritize competing demands from stakeholders and resolve conflicts.
• Build relationships with customer stakeholders across all levels, including leadership, business, and technical stakeholders, and identify potential opportunities.
• Partner with stakeholders to communicate product vision, strategy, features, prioritization, progress, and needs.
• Perform research to understand market and business changes and determine their impact on current strategy and requirements.
• Review technology architecture, perform gap analyses, and define future-state roadmaps aligned with business objectives and industry best practices.
• Translate complex VMware technical concepts into clear, actionable guidance for non-technical stakeholders and executives.
• Work alongside Presidio’s VMware Architects to deliver a comprehensive VCF Adoption Roadmap document and/or PowerPoint presentation.

Requirements

• Minimum of 10+ years of experience as an architect or technology program lead delivering migration, transformation programs, or modernization projects on-prem and in the Cloud.
• 5+ years of experience with VMware private cloud solutions (vSphere, vSAN, NSX, VCF, Aria Suite, etc.).
• Experience in consultative delivery of large-scale business & technology transformation programs, working directly with senior client leaders.
• Consulting firm experience.
• Experience applying proven consulting methodologies to assess current state, design target state, conduct gap analysis, and define roadmaps across people, processes, and technology.
• Desire to build business capability canvases and map business outcomes to technology capabilities and cloud investments.
• Desire to build business cases, with a preference for cloud business cases as part of a client’s cloud journey or digital transformation.
• Strong experience and passion for designing/implementing at least one of the following domains: cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Excellent client-facing communication skills, both written and oral, along with strong listening, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
• Proven experience with business and technical requirements analysis, elicitation, modeling, verification, and methodology development.
• Experience mentoring and executing Agile best practices.
• Demonstrated experience working successfully with SW development teams, onshore and offshore.
• Demonstrable skills across project development methodologies (Agile, SCRUM, Kanban, Waterfall).
• Strong facilitation skills and experience leading workshops.
• Experience with Cloud / Azure / Microsoft O365 suite of tools.
• Outstanding overall communication, presentation, and leadership skills with the ability to engage, influence, and inspire partners and stakeholders.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Sharp analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
• Creative thinker with a vision.

Preferred Qualifications

• 6+ years in technology consulting, preferably at one of the Big Four.
