About the Role

This position oversees stage and event production, including sound reinforcement, stage lighting, labor, and video presented in the venue during events. The role is both creative and technical, assisting in event-based production and related duties.

Responsibilities

  • Direct, supervise, and schedule all aspects of event production, including sound reinforcement, stage lighting, labor, and video.
  • Advance all production elements of performances and events, including assignment of stagehands and stagecraft elements.
  • Determine appropriate staffing levels, call structures, and work sequencing to ensure safe, efficient, and contract-compliant operations.
  • Ensure venue infrastructure and theatrical systems are restored to operational standards following events; document damage, deficiencies, or unusual wear.
  • Create, review, approve, and correct union timesheets, ensuring contractual and payroll accuracy.
  • Coordinate production activities with other departments and event-related contractors to assure facility readiness and smooth operation of events.
  • Implement and update facility rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide clear, concise, and timely communication to other departments.
  • Oversee maintenance of theatrical lighting, sound, audio-visual, and stage production equipment; ensure safe operations of all systems.
  • Serve as Manager on Duty (MOD) with a special focus on theater load-ins, performances, and loadouts.
  • Train IATSE members and internal staff in harness training, lighting, audio, fly rail, pit operation, etc.
  • Create and manage CyberKeys and access badges for events, ensuring appropriate access levels and security compliance.
  • Provide hands-on technical support as needed across all halls.
  • Assist the Director of Operations with supervision of engineers.
  • Contribute to post-event evaluations and update operational procedures to improve efficiency, safety, and consistency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Legends Global’s policies and applicable laws.

Requirements

  • Minimum education level: High School Diploma or equivalent (BA/BS Degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of related work experience.
  • Knowledge and understanding of theatrical performance systems.
  • Supervisory experience required.
  • Ability to work at all Legends Global facilities in Wichita.

Skills

  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills; ability to interact with all levels of staff, including management.
  • Ability to effectively supervise staff.
  • Professional presentation, appearance, and work ethic.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, and ability to learn Maintenance Manager Software.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision and as a team member.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, in addition to normal business hours.

Physical Demands

  • Extensive walking, occasional kneeling, climbing to high walkways, or balancing.
  • Occasional lifting and/or moving of up to 50 pounds.
  • Work inside and outside the building with some exposure to adverse conditions.
