About the role

We are seeking a Technical Designer for our Womens Outerwear, Jackets & Skirts categories to support the Technical Design team.

Responsibilities

  • Technical Design Execution
    • Support the development of fit standards, construction details, and garment specifications.
    • Drive the development and maintenance of technical packages (tech packs) and garment specifications.
    • Create and maintain measurement charts and grade rules.
    • Create and maintain construction standards and workmanship guidelines.
    • Create and maintain block libraries and seasonal updates.
    • Avoid errors and inconsistencies in technical documentation throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Fit & Sample Evaluation
    • Evaluate samples at various development stages including Proto, PP, and TOP samples.
    • Record fit comments and maintain technical documentation following fittings.
    • Work with cross-functional teams and vendors to ensure fit corrections and revisions are implemented accurately.
  • Garment Construction & Engineering
    • Assess construction details to ensure garments meet both aesthetic and functional standards.
    • Evaluate fabric properties and their impact on fit, drape, and performance.
    • Provide recommendations for garment engineering improvements to enhance manufacturability and consistency.
    • Partner with Product Development and vendors to troubleshoot construction or pattern issues during development.
  • Vendor Communication & Sample Tracking
    • Communicate fit comments and technical updates clearly to vendors and internal teams.
    • Track sample revisions and ensure updates are reflected accurately in technical documentation.
    • Maintain and track development progress to support timely approvals and production readiness.

    Requirements

    • Minimum of 5 years of technical design experience.
    • Experience working with relevant wovens categories.
    • Strong understanding of garment construction and pattern terminology.
    • Experience evaluating fit and reviewing samples.
    • Knowledge of grading and measurement specifications.
    • Experience creating and maintaining technical packages.
    • Proficiency in PLM systems, Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft Office / Excel.
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Clear communication and collaboration skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple development timelines.
    • Problem-solving mindset with strong technical curiosity.

    Physical Requirements

    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, working on a computer, standing and bending.
    • Must be able to lift 15 pounds occasionally.
    • Must be able to access and navigate various departments at the organization's facilities.

    Pay

    $80,000 - $100,000 depending on experience, skills, and qualifications. Compensation and benefits may vary based on role, location, and eligibility.
