Technical Designer

Candidates should have a strong pattern-making background with experience in knits and wovens, PLM experience (Centric preferred), and the ability to work quickly and efficiently. Ideal candidates have 5–10 years of experience, including senior-level technical design, but have not managed a large team. This is an individual contributor role; candidates must be comfortable reporting to a manager long-term. Sleepwear experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Execute the technical design process from development to final fit.
• Analyze and evaluate garments to develop correct fit specifications.
• Ensure products are developed consistent with fit quality, standards, manufacturer capabilities, and cost specifications.
• Develop technical specifications and communicate fit to vendors/factories for approvals and corrections.
• Make adjustments with factories to maintain design integrity, quality, and targeted price.
• Own the fit and comfort of the product, working closely with design to meet design intent while adhering to fit, comfort, and quality standards.
• Participate in or lead fittings, write fit comments, and make pattern corrections.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in technical design.
• Experience with knits, wovens, and plus-size garments.
• Proficiency in Centric PLM, Excel, Illustrator, and Flex PLM.
• Ability to write fit comments and make pattern corrections.
• Experience participating in or owning fittings.
