A Technical Designer manages their product category from concept to production by establishing and maintaining consistent fit standards, manufacturing methods, grading, and pattern blocks between multiple factories. They are also responsible for managing workflow to meet seasonal calendars by working closely with cross-functional partners.
Responsibilities
- Overall execution of fit, grading, and construction while maintaining optimum quality from initial prototype development through production approval
- Creates and provides pattern and/or pattern direction throughout development
- Creates and maintains company block patterns
- Collaborates with Design, Product Management, and Vendors to develop products that meet target cost and brand standards
- Prepares prototypes and leads fit sessions on live models with Design and Product Management to arrive at a cohesive, executable direction
- Develops and routes technical packages including graded specifications, construction details, and requested fit corrections for accurate costing and prototyping
- Takes initiative to continually improve quality of fit and construction
- Demonstrates high level of quality work, attendance, and appearance
- Demonstrates high degree of professionalism in communication, attitude, and teamwork with customers, peers, and management
- Adheres to all local, federal, and state laws in addition to Company policies, procedures, and practices
- Performs any other duties that may be assigned by management
