About the role
The Technical Communicator II assists technicians in the repair process, coordinates with Caterpillar engineers, answers technical requests, and resolves product issues through diagnosis, personal knowledge, and expertise.
Responsibilities
- Aid technicians during repairs to ensure timely and quality service.
- Work with Caterpillar engineers to resolve product issues.
- Respond to technical inquiries and resolve product problems.
- Recognize and document product issues and determine root causes affecting customer satisfaction.
- Travel to customer sites to assist with complex troubleshooting and issue resolution.
- Attend necessary training to stay updated on new products and challenges.
- Utilize Caterpillar system resources such as SIS web, PSCRM, Dealer.Cat.com, DPSS, SIMS I/CPI to diagnose issues and evaluate solutions.
- Use professional phone etiquette to handle customer calls.
Requirements
- Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.
- Five (5) years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Moderate computer skills, including web navigation and experience with databases.
- Valid drivers license and clean driving record.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Effective communication skills, including speaking before groups.
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Visual and auditory acuity to perform tasks requiring these abilities.
Qualifications
- Must have a valid drivers license and clean driving record.
- Must be able to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must be able to adjust focus and hear.
- Must be able to understand and follow instructions.
