Technical Business Analyst- Intermediate (Collections & Remarketing).

Contract position with an international automotive company.

About the role

Support the Collections and Remarketing teams, including Active Collections, Recovery, Exceptions, Strategy, and Soft Collections. Collaborate with leadership, business, and data stakeholders to create recurring production and ad hoc reports, analyze business results, and identify trends or issues.

Responsibilities

• Create recurring production and ad hoc reports
• Analyze business results to identify and communicate trends and possible issues
• Perform root cause analysis to eliminate defects in reports
• Continuously improve efficiency and reporting quality
• Conduct datamart testing and validation
• Review internally produced reports for accuracy and resolve issues
• Publish reports to stakeholders according to SLAs or requirements
• Identify and troubleshoot issues with report accuracy and data integrity
• Collaborate with stakeholders to determine report requirements
• Translate requirements into technical specifications
• Maintain internal processes and key information
• Assess customer requests, provide ad hoc reports, and develop recurring reports
• Coordinate with stakeholders and BA supervisor to determine priorities
• Attend project meetings to provide analysis, insight, or technical advice
• Act as a consultant to business partners by providing trend and exception analysis
• Identify key areas of opportunity through process mapping or data analysis
• Reduce manually generated reports through automation
• Seek continuous improvement by increasing efficiency of standard reports

Requirements

• 3-5 years of development experience in Cognos, MS Access, SQL, SAS
• Experience translating requirements into technical specifications
• Datamart testing and validation experience
• Experience liaising with the business to define requirements
• Ability to collect data, establish facts, identify trends and variances
• Ability to integrate information from various sources with varied complexity
• Ability to review, interpret, and evaluate statistical information
• Ability to formulate and test hypotheses for forecasting outcomes
• Facilitation skills
• Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office, SQL Workbench, Cognos (preferred)
• Experience with query creation (e.g., SQL, Cognos Report Studio, SAS, Python, Access)
• Strong presentation, problem-solving, and project management skills
• Sales skills
• Excellent organization and time management
• Strong written communication
• Comfort communicating with different levels of management
