About the role
Join our growing team supporting customer missions as a Technical Automation Specialist in Herndon, Virginia. Automation Strategy, Technical Design and Development, Collaboration and Integration, Monitoring and Optimization, Technical Guidance and Support.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with technical teams to identify areas for automation and efficiency improvements.
- Develop and implement automation strategies to improve productivity, reduce costs and enhance overall quality.
- Design, develop, and implement automation solutions using various technologies and tools, such as scripting languages, automation frameworks, monitoring systems, log and data management, and CI/CD tools.
- Work closely with technical teams to integrate automation solutions with existing systems, ensuring seamless integration and minimal disruption to services.
- Provide technical guidance and support to technical teams on automation best practices, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
- Maintain accurate documentation of automation solutions, including design, development, and deployment processes. Share knowledge and best practices with technical teams through training, workshops, and documentation.
Requirements
- A minimum of 6 years' experience, plus a Bachelors degree is required or a Masters degree and 6 years experience.
- Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure DevOps Engineer, or Certified Ansible Engineer.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
- Infrastructure as Code Knowledge of infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and technologies.
Qualifications
- Systems Engineering and development experience.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
- Experience with automation frameworks such as Ansible, SaltStack, or Puppet.
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with IT service management frameworks such as ITIL.
- Familiarity with incidents, problems, and changes management system such as ServiceNow.
- Experience with Linux and/or Windows operating systems.

Pay
The expected salary range within the Washington, DC metropolitan area is $145,000 - $165,000. Final compensation is unique to each individual and will be determined based on factors such as experience, education, geographic location, and contractual requirements. This is not a guarantee.
