Tech-Ultrasound I

Position Overview

Performs general diagnostic ultrasound examination. Performs a variety of duties in preparing neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients for the technical component of scans and treatments of particular organs to furnish diagnostic information. Operates Ultrasound equipment to produce the scans. Provides support and training assistance as well as functioning in all aspects of the position. Assists the Lead and Department in maintenance of equipment and QA/QC program(s) for meeting regulatory and accreditation and re-accreditation. Serves as department liaison.

Responsibilities

• Perform general diagnostic ultrasound examinations.
• Prepare neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients for scans and treatments.
• Operate ultrasound equipment to produce diagnostic scans.
• Provide support and training assistance.
• Assist in the maintenance of equipment and QA/QC programs to meet regulatory and accreditation requirements.
• Serve as a department liaison.

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited Ultrasound Technologist program or an AMA-approved program in Ultrasonography.
• ARDMS (American Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) certification.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) Healthcare Provider certification.
• Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a hospital setting; student internship experience may be considered.

Pay

Pay Range is $67.89 to $84.79 per hour. The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs.

Schedule

• Varied schedule.
• Per Diem/Casual shift hours (8 hours).
• Variable days of the week, including weekends as needed.
