About the role

Seeking a Tech Specialist 2 with a Security Clearance to join our team in Tysons, Virginia. This position offers a competitive salary range of USD $90,640.00 - USD $135,960.00 /Yr.

Responsibilities

  • Apply familiarity with NIST 800-53 controls and ATO processes to maintain system compliance
  • Develop and contribute to compliance documentation, including writing control narratives and supporting artifacts
  • Develop and maintain system architecture diagrams representing current and future state environments
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, system architectures, schematics, and SOW documentation to support troubleshooting and system modifications
  • Demonstrate proficiency with at least one enterprise security platform (e.g., Lenel OnGuard, Genetec Security Center), including credential management and system administration functions
  • Perform system administration across enterprise security and infrastructure platforms, including configuration management, user administration, access control, and system health monitoring
  • Support and maintain integrations across multi-vendor systems, ensuring interoperability and stable operations
  • Maintain working knowledge of supporting systems such as IP-based video surveillance, credential management solutions, and VoIP intercom systems
  • Manage and maintain cloud-based infrastructure (e.g., AWS EC2 instances), including provisioning, configuration, patching, and performance optimization
  • Monitor system health, performance metrics, and CloudWatch alerts/logs to maintain situational awareness, proactively identify risks, and support automation initiatives
  • Analyze system performance and recommend improvements to optimize reliability, scalability, and efficiency
  • Lead advanced troubleshooting efforts, performing root cause analysis and implementing long-term corrective actions for recurring or critical issues
  • Provide Tier 3 support for ESS platforms (access control, VMS, intrusion detection), including troubleshooting system failures, connectivity issues, and hardware/software faults
  • Provide remote diagnostics, log analysis, and configuration support to field personnel during installation and issue resolution
  • Serve as the primary interface with manufacturers and vendors, owning support tickets end-to-end, including creation, tracking, escalation, and resolution validation
  • Apply hands-on experience with physical security hardware, including door controllers, readers, request-to-exit (REX) devices, door contacts (DC), locks, input/output modules, and control panels
  • Support installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of field devices and associated infrastructure, including low-voltage wiring, device communication, and panel integrations
  • Understand door hardware design and access control system behavior, including fail-safe and fail-secure configurations and life safety considerations
  • Apply networking and infrastructure fundamentals (IP addressing, subnetting, routing, switching, firewalls, VLANs) to support system integration, performance optimization, and advanced troubleshooting
  • Cook up coordination with engineering, IT, security operations, and facilities teams to maintain system uptime and ensure effective incident response
  • Plan, test, and execute system upgrades, patches, and migrations with minimal operational impact
  • Document system configurations, issues, resolutions, and trends to improve support processes and long-term system performance
  • Assist with routine maintenance activities, including firmware updates, system backups, and preventative maintenance
  • Conduct research and evaluation of systems, technologies, and manufacturers to support current and future deployments
  • Support system deployment activities and provide post-deployment operational support
  • Cook up coordination with field and engineering teams to identify and resolve installation or design issues
  • Train system users and support personnel; contribute to SOPs, troubleshooting guides, and training materials
  • Perform all duties with minimal direct supervision

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED with 8+ years of experience with installation, troubleshooting and/or testing of electronic security systems
  • Associates with 6+ years of experience
  • Reliable attendance at customer site during work hours required by customer
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes occasional nights and weekends

Qualifications

  • Clearance/Citizen Type: Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and may meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship, for access to classified information
  • Education/Position Requirements: High School Diploma/GED with 8+ years of experience with installation, troubleshooting and/or testing of electronic security systems or Associates with 6+ years of experience

Pay Range
