Engineer 4 - Tysons, VA with Security Clearance

About the role

Responsible for installing and configuring networks based on an Installation Design Package (IDP) that satisfies customer needs. Works closely with Systems Engineers and the Design Department to resolve technical issues and identify design problems. Suggests process improvements and cost savings for future installs. Supports a large-scale, high performance computing center by providing systems support, including installation and management of computer systems, workstations, operating systems, peripherals, and system interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Staying current on industry trends and available products and services.
• Performing staging and setup as needed for project support and self-instruction.
• Working closely with Systems Engineers to install and configure networks based on an Installation Design Package (IDP).
• Researching equipment from multiple manufacturers to resolve technical issues during installation and testing.
• Identifying and correcting design problems during the design cycle.
• Suggesting process improvements and cost savings to aid the Implementation Department for future installs.
• Providing systems support for a large-scale, high performance computing center, including installation and management of computer systems, workstations, operating systems, peripherals, and system interfaces.
• Making designs for automation systems, including a list of quantities and types of materials used.
• Creating user guideline documentations and manuals for custom programs and applications.
• Working within a lab environment, learning different IT and ESS systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
• 7+ years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Must obtain a Security+ certification within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Clearance/Citizen Type: Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and may meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship, for access to classified information.
• Ability to obtain a SECRET Clearance is REQUIRED.

Skills

• Strong Oral, Written, and Presentation Skills.
• Demonstrated background working with multidisciplinary teams.
• Demonstrated time management and organization skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives.
• Strong MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Skills (a plus).
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of the time.

Pay

USD $125,120.00 - USD $187,680.00 /Yr.
