About the role

Leidos is seeking an Installation Technician to partner on a large enterprise IT contract. The Installation Technician will lead the team responsible for end user technology refresh installation support of existing hardware, software, system configurations, and new system initiatives to ensure the organization's information technology infrastructure operates securely, reliably, and efficiently. This individual will work in a team environment to meet mission needs and ensure functionality of customer capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Installation, configuration, decommission, and support of the customer’s end user devices.
  • Manage the install team while communicating across teams, with customers, and with Leidos program/project managers.
  • Coordinate personnel and project management during site installations for entire projects.
  • Assign personnel to various projects, direct their activities, and evaluate their work.
  • Manage entire projects spanning multiple technical areas to achieve key project/program objectives and deliverables.
  • Serve as the primary interface with contractor support service groups.
  • Provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
  • Install and troubleshoot support for desktops (thin and thick clients), printers, monitors, KVMs, phones, and scanners.
  • Ensure great cable management.
  • Deploy a wide variety of new hardware, software, and upgrades of existing installations.
  • Confirm required security posture on all network equipment in accordance with DoD and local command mandates, including updates, STIGs, IOS upgrades, and other basic network security requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation for processes and procedures related to computer systems and operations.
  • Schedule installs without interrupting business workflow.
  • Understand, implement, and follow processes in accordance with current policies and procedures.
  • Mentor and lead a junior team of installation technicians, as needed.
  • May serve as a team or task lead and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work independently as the primary customer interface, manage time effectively, prioritize problems, and report.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interface with military officials, managers, and technical teammates across multiple areas.
  • Extensive knowledge of PC/network communications hardware/software in a multi-protocol environment.
  • Expert knowledge of IT and network security best practices and protocols, with the ability to apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts.
  • Must meet DoDM 8140.03 (previously DoD 8570) – IT System Admin Intermediate certification requirements (Cloud+, GICSP, SSCP, Security+ CE, GSEC, or higher).
  • U.S. Citizenship is required due to the nature of the government contracts we support.
  • An active TS/SCI with polygraph is required, or TS/SCI with willingness to obtain a polygraph.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 4 years of relevant experience,
  • Master’s degree with 2 years of relevant experience,
  • Associate's degree with 6 years of relevant experience, or
  • High School Diploma with 8 years of relevant experience.

Desired Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience managing teams of IT professionals.

Travel

Potentially up to 25% worldwide, with the majority in the continental U.S.

Pay

Pay Range: $73,450.00 - $132,775.00. The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
